Control Centers

Satmex's Communications and Satellite Control Centers offer users the best technology for a highly reliable service.

Satellite Control Centers

The Satmex Satellite Control Centers are responsible for the operation of Satmex's satellite fleet.

They function with state-of-the-art satellite operation technologies.

International audits and operations statistics position it as one of the best satellite control centers in the world.

Staff is fluent in both Spanish and English and has ample experience in satellite operations.

Satellite Control Centers offer:

Real time Telemetry Reception, enabling our operations team to monitor the satellites' operating status at all times.

Telecommand transmission and determination of the distance between the satellite and the station (range) to make changes and adjustments both to the satellites' and configurations:

Switching from one coverage region to another
Changes in a transponder's attenuator
Correction of any anomalies and routine operating procedures

Orbital control maneuvers to correct the satellite's position that is affected by disturbances from other celestial bodies and by the form of the Earth.

All this activities are performed with the highest quality standards, which are reflected in the ISO 9001 certification obtained in December 2001 for all the operations divisions.

The Satmex Satellite Control Centers are located in Mexico City and in Hermosillo, Sonora.

 

 

 

Communications Control Centers

The Communications Control Centers (CCC) monitor the signals sent through Satmex's satellites and verify that users are operating within the assigned parameters.

Satmex CCCs are currently among the world's leaders:

They have an automatic carrier monitoring system with state-of-the-art technology for verifying bandwidth and power parameters.

Customer service capacity was increased by 200% in 3 years
The system has alarms that are activated if a carrier is
operating outside the standard parameters
Continuously performs and reports statistical monitoring
analyses

Specialization in interferometry, based on a new transmitter locating system (TLS 2000).

The staff operating the Communications Control Center:

Has special knowledge about satellite networks operating in the Americas

Offers service in both English and Spanish and personalized attention to users 24 X 7

Provides support to users for the adjustments and measurements required before and during each access to the satellites

Is responsible of monitoring the operating status of each network
Provides support for Occasional Service
