Morelos II
Morelos II is part of the first generation of Mexican satellites,
its construction began in 1983. Built by Hughes, the Morelos II
was launched into space on November 27th, 1985 aboard the space
shuttle Atlantis (OV-104).
Due to its design, the original expected lifespan of this satellite
was 9 years, but thanks to the initiatives and the excellent operating
standards of our Mexican engineers, it has been in operation for
15 years now and it still continues to provide telecommunications
services.
Since August 1998, Morelos II has been operating in inclined orbit.
